Music sometimes walks hand-in-hand with the dramatic, especially the shocking. Acts such as Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, GWAR and Marilyn Manson incorporated horrific stage shows to accentuate their music. Alice Cooper remains one of the most infamous shock rockers in modern music.
His reign of rock ‘n’ roll terror began in 1969 with his debut, “Pretties for You.” In the years that followed, he turned out hits such as “Long Way to Go,” “Welcome to My Nightmare” and “Feed My Frankenstein.” In addition to his solo work, Cooper has been spending time on the road with Hollywood Vampires, which features Johnny Depp and Joe Perry (Aerosmith).
As far as Cooper’s live show, the audience can expect anything to happen. Over the years, he has used his performances to present a cavalcade of terrifying dramatics. He has been decapitated by a guillotine and shocked in an electric chair. An army of monsters, psychopaths and ghouls have marched across his stage. Regardless of what he has planned, those who have attended Alice Cooper’s live show will testify it is a memorable experience that must be repeated.
