Band: Brady Turner feat. Bradley Turner, Osla
Date: Friday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.
Venue: Sophiella Gallery, 111 Dauphin St., sophiellagallery.com
Sophiella Gallery will be accenting its art with a performance from local musician Brady Turner with his brother, Bradley Turner, acting as featured artist. This is not the first time that these siblings have collaborated. In 2017, the Turners worked together on Bradley’s EP, “Death You Lose.” This release featured “church music” inspired by the duo’s time performing onstage at Praise Family Church.
Brady is preparing for the Aug. 6 release of his debut solo effort, “We Made It.” He says that the music on this album is inspired by his first year of marriage. Unique sounds on the local scene are always refreshing, and his tracks are definitely fresh. This release is an expert mix of modern jazz, electronica, soul and R&B. Warm, thick vocal work is carried by measures of sweet, smooth grooves.
Introspective, electronic artist Osla will be joining the Turner brothers. Osla’s winning musical formula consists of dreamlike servings of electronic ambiance and gentle vocals. Osla should be a great complement to the evening’s lineup.
