The Greater Gulf State Fair has returned to The Grounds with seven nights of fun for the Azalea City. In addition to all the thrilling rides and delicious food, this annual event also tends to provide great musical entertainment. Over the years, the Greater Gulf State Fair has brought a variety of great musical acts ranging from Joe Walsh to Morris Day and The Time. This year, the grandstand will feature a performance from Southern rock legends The Marshall Tucker Band.
The Marshall Tucker Band got its start on the iconic Capricorn Records roster, which also included Wet Willie, Dixie Dregs and Cowboy. The group first filled the radio waves with the Southern rock love ballad “Can’t You See.” A few years later, The Marshall Tucker Band came back with “Fire on the Mountain,” in 1975, followed by the hit “Heard It in a Love Song” in 1977. The Greater Gulf State Fair’s outdoor grandstand should be a great venue to experience this classic band.
