Three of mainstream rock’s biggest names will perform on the Soul Kitchen stage this Friday.

Birmingham’s Within Reason will open the evening. The quartet from the Magic City has been in the public eye since their 2006 debut EP, “Cycle a Smile.” The album included the track “Hold,” which earned them a live TV performance on “One Tree Hill.” The band expanded their audience through a performance at the Grammy Awards, which they won through the “Gig of a Lifetime” contest.
Black Stone Cherry
Modern rock powerhouse Tremonti, fronted by former Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti, will follow. After leaving Creed, which formed in Tallahassee, Tremonti put together Alter Bridge and went on to score hits such as “Open Your Eyes” and “Find the Real.” Tremonti’s namesake project is a departure from his previous bands, leaning more toward the thrash/speed styles of metal. The quartet’s sophomore effort, “Cauterize,” is due out June 9.

Black Stone Cherry will end the evening. Since forming in Kentucky over a decade ago, Black Stone Cherry has earned steady radio play with hits such as “Lonely Train” and “White Trash Millionaire.” The public has been sampling the sounds of their latest album, “Magic Mountain,” through singles like “Remember Me.”
