The Sh-Booms is one of many SouthSounds Music Festival alums that has established a dedicated Azalea City following. For almost a decade, this collective of Orlando-based musicians has continued to pioneer its garage-soul sound. This edgy brand of modern-retro soul has allowed the band to open for a diverse list of headliners, including The B-52’s, KRS-One, Big Freedia and St. Paul & the Broken Bones.
When the band debuted at SouthSounds, The Sh-Booms was promoting its debut EP “Usage Fee.” Now the band is on the road with fresh music from its new album “The Blurred Odyssey.” This 10-song endeavor came from an 18-month creation process guided by producer Alan Armitage (Boyz II Men and *NSYNC). Time has only improved the band’s already great sound, which could best be described as King Khan and the Shrines meets Aretha Franklin. This garage rock-infused sweet soul sound is the best that it has ever been.
