The Live at Five concert series has brought a number of great musical experiences to the Halstead Amphitheater in Fairhope. With the past two shows reaching sell-out status, Live at Five has become a popular way to start the weekend on both sides of Mobile Bay.
This time, Live at Five is bringing the sounds of the ’90s to the Halstead Amphitheater. The Spin Doctors have a prescription of ’90s alt. rock for the Live at Five crowd. Their 1991 debut album, “Pocket Full of Kryptonite,” served as an epic breakout for this quartet. “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” “Two Princes” and “Jimmy Olsen’s Blues” helped bring alternative sounds into the mainstream. Since then, the Spin Doctors have added five more albums to their catalog. The band’s set in Fairhope should provide a rock ’n’ roll flashback for generations both new and old.
Johnny Hayes & the Loveseats will be providing local support. Hayes used a run on the NBC vocal competition “The Voice” to make his presence known on the national stage. Many fell in love with Hayes’ versatile soul sound that maintained his Southern roots. Since returning to the area, Hayes has continued to add to his musical legacy.
With its toasty mix of country and soul, “Rosé & Cigarettes” has become a crowd favorite along the Gulf Coast. Other tracks like “Without a Woman” are evidence Hayes is a master of poignant anthems resonating with emotion.
