Brandon Shreves, State Farm agent, is proud to announce he will be spearheading an Easter donation drive for Soles4Souls, a nonprofit global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.
“Due to the success of our previous Soles4Souls drives, I want to continue to support this humanitarian organization in its mission to wear out poverty,” Shreves said. “I, along with Soles4Souls, believe everyone deserves a good pair of shoes, as each day children are prevented from attending school and adults are unable to work as walking becomes unbearable because of a lack of shoes.”Shreves’ Easter donation drive comes on the heels of not one but two successful campaigns for Soles4Souls. In his initial drive, Shreves reached his targeted goal of 500 shoes. He followed that by collecting more than 2,000 pairs of shoes and personally delivering approximately 4,400 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls in Nashville, Tennessee, a journey of more than 1,000 miles from his home base in Mobile. Brandon traveled on this special trip with his 36 week pregnant wife, Angie and they are proud to announce that Jolie Elise was born on Jan. 2, 2016, after they returned home. Jolie shares her mom, Angie’s birthday.
With the help of people like Shreves, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed more than 26 million pairs of shoes to those in need in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S. The vision of Soles4Souls is to eradicate extreme poverty by 2050.
“Whether people donate 30 pairs of shoes or 3,000, every pair counts,” Shreves saaid. “Hosting a donation drive provides a practical solution to fighting poverty, and I encourage everyone to not only donate a new or gently worn pair of shoes this Easter but to get involved by organizing your own campaign.”
