MOBILE – Mayor Sandy Stimpson is officially launching the city’s very first “Eat Local” Initiative.
Eating local isn’t just about the food,” Stimpson said. “It’s about bringing people together to support our community.”
He will be ramping up his “Chat and Chew” lunch series in an effort to spotlight local businesses and create a more open dialogue with citizens. Citizens will be encouraged to enjoy a meal with the Mayor and support Mobile’s rising restaurant scene.
“Dining establishments will have the opportunity to share their local flavor, and citizens will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on where Mobile is headed,” Stimpson said.
Future locations are to be determined. If your restaurant is interested in hosting a Chat and Chew, please email Laura Byrne at email@example.com.
Sandy Bear, will also be making appearances on the dining scene. Patrons will catch him at one of his favorite watering holes each week. Follow Sandy Bear on Twitter, @TheSandyBear, for updates.
