Venue: Alchemy Tavern, 7 S. Joachim St., www.alchemytavernmobile.com

Post Mortem Delirium will be giving the Mobile underground scene a holiday gift a few days early. Just in time for Christmas, this local horror-punk outfit will be releasing its debut album, “End This Plague.”
Since founding, Post Mortem Delirium has slightly shifted its lineup. This most recent incarnation features guitarist/vocalist Jesse Bones, drummer Andy Scott (The Handsome Scoundrels), Mike Fillingim (Dirty Mike & the Boys) and bassist Kevin “Buzz” Olsen. A $5 cover comes with a split single featuring the band’s original song “Eat.Sh*t.Repeat” and their rendition of Agent Orange’s “A Cry for Help in a World Gone Mad.” A $12 admission price includes a copy of the new album.
“End This Plague” is representative of the band’s furious sound. With songs like “Dead by Dawn,” Bones plunges the listener into a demonic world of darkness that echoes with crunchy guitars and breakneck rhythms. “A Moment to Dismember” slows things down with its haunting, melodic instrumentation before the band gets into its metal roots. Ultimately, Post Mortem Delirium has created an album that highlights a concoction of metal, punk and horror that has been seldom heard in the Azalea City.
Dicks from Mars and Future Elevators will open the show. For those who can’t make the Alchemy album release party, Post Mortem Delirium will have an “unplugged” release party at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Mobile Records (140 S. Sage Ave.).
