Jose Sunderland studied cello for seven years at the Escuela Superior de Musica in Mexico City before moving to the United States to earn a degree at the University of Southern Mississippi. He has played with the Mobile Symphony and Mobile Opera orchestras, the Pensacola Symphony and Pensacola Opera orchestras, the Meridian Symphony, the Mississippi Symphony and the Gulf Coast Symphony.
Currently on staff at the University of South Alabama, Sunderland joins forces with pianist Robert Holm to present a little musical solace against the summer swelter. Their faculty recital is to be comprised of works from Mendelssohn, Brahms, Reger and Prokofiev.
Tickets are $8, $5 for USA faculty, staff, students along with youth under 18 and senior citizens. Cash or check only.
