Having won over the OGD at Callaghan’s, Great Peacock is bringing its music to the OTD (Old Towne Daphne). Founders Andrew Nelson and Blount Floyd mix countrified folk and pristine harmonies in a way that’s made them one of the most celebrated bands to emerge from the Nashville indie scene. Nelson and Floyd have been busy promoting their latest album, “Making Ghosts.” While most bands seek to force evolution on their music, Great Peacock has chosen to build on an already beautiful sound. With “Making Ghosts,” Nelson and Floyd have maintained the band’s trademark sound and added a great deal of production and instrumental depth.
Sweet Crude has become one of the area’s favorite regional bands. Now, two of its members are bringing their side project to the E-Sho. Alexis & the Samurai features Sweet Crude’s Sam “Two Dat” Craft and Alexis Marceaux. Craft works double-time on the fiddle and percussion as Marceaux’s heavenly voice mixes with her work on the acoustic guitar. While this project’s sound is a departure from Sweet Crude’s swampy indie pop, Alexis & the Samurai maintains a hypnotic style of music that’s perfect for a mellow Sunday evening in Old Towne Daphne.
