It was probably the best date I ever had. The first Red or White Wine and Gourmet Center (Mobile) Summer Whites and BBQ Reds Tasting endeared me to them forever. The special place at 1104 Dauphin St. is hosting its third event of the same name on Saturday, June 15, from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person. Call 251-478-9494 and reserve your spot today.
Here is my perfect date suggestion: After the tasting, head downtown in an Uber. Have a couple of snacks at the Haberdasher. Try a fancy cocktail. After that, climb up to Dauphin’s for a coffee and snort of bourbon and enjoy the view. Steal a kiss in the elevator on the way down, and hit the Royal Scam for peanut butter cheesecake and another glass of wine. Fall in love. Get married. Have a kid. It’ll work every time.

Saraland Zaxby’s to open
By the time you read this, the new Saraland Zaxby’s should have opened at 57 Shell St. The new farmhouse-style restaurant is now open from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and closing at 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It’s Saraland’s first chance a Zappetizers, Chicken Fingerz and wings.
“We are very excited to finally bring Zaxby’s brand to Saraland,” said licensee Hudson Sandefur, who owns the location with his business partner David Marks. “We are eager to build on our track record of community involvement and do what we can to support Saraland schools, businesses and organizations with our team of 50.”
Like our friend Waylon Payne croons, “I’m not crying ‘cuz you left me, I just got insane sauce in my eye.” Be careful out there and sauce responsibly.
