Those wanting to get away for the weekend should consider heading west. The Beau Rivage will be featuring an unlikely lineup filled with some of greatest sounds of the 20th century. Chubby Checker pulled the masses to the dance floor with a collection of dance-centric pop hits, giving the world “The Twist,” “The Pony” and the “Limbo Rock.” Even in the new millennium, Checker is scoring hits like the 2008 single “Knock Down the Walls,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard dance chart.
War will bring the glory days of ‘70s funk to the Beau Rivage stage. The West Coast band gathered listeners with its Latin-infused style, which introduced such timeless hits such as “The Cisco Kid,” “Low Rider” and “Why Can’t We Be Friends.”
