I loved Laura Rasmussen’s Oct. 6 Gadfly political cartoon suggesting an 11th commandment, “thou shalt not pontificate and moralize.” It’s a very important lesson — to learn how to listen to people with respect, instead of talking at them with wagging finger and fixed ideas about the only right way to do something.
For readers who are concerned, confused or uncommitted about climate change, Citizens’ Climate Lobby volunteers would appreciate hearing your questions and policy worries. A group of Gulf Coast volunteers will be in your area Oct. 13 and we promise that we shall not pontificate nor moralize — not to any private citizen, nor to any elected official — because it’s not the way to establish solid relationships and build consensus.
