Chris Stapleton has used the past year to step out of obscurity and into the annals of country music history. Shaped by the honky-tonk sounds of classic country, Stapleton has earned the respect of critics and fans alike with his album “Traveler.”
He has captured the essence of some of the greatest icons in country music and brought versatility into the mix. “Tennessee Whiskey” is a beautiful country ballad that draws power from its soulful attitude. However, he still tips his Stetson with old-school ballads such as “Nobody to Blame.”
This collection of modern alt. country debuted at number two and has brought Stapleton both honors and notoriety. He is the first artist ever to win Best Album, Male Vocalist and New Artist awards at the Country Music Awards. Stapleton also took home two Grammys. Currently “Traveler” remains at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country Chart.
