This installment of 92 Zew’s “Road to the Hangout” concert series will feature a triple-shot of aural pleasure.
Pittsburgh is sending a musical ambassador in the form of 28 North. Many have witnessed this band’s rock style through their opening spots for bands such as Dawes and My Morning Jacket. This creative quartet is on the cusp of releasing its fifth album “World on Fire.” Judging from the sample song on their website, 28 North maintains a good balance of high-energy rock tracks and heartfelt ballads.
Fronted by the beautiful and talented Colleen Rennison, No Sinner’s soulful brand of garage rock should be a definite crowd pleaser. Whether her band mates are walking through a slow number or slamming through a world of rock-and-roll, Rennison’s powerful vocals mingle effortless with a tinge of sultriness and soul. No Sinner is on tour in support of their album “Boo Hoo Hoo.”
Singer-songwriter Joel Madison Blount is the next contestant in the “Reach for the Beach” contest for a spot in Hangout Fest 2014. Hailing from Birmingham, Blount will be charming the crowd with the modern troubadour sounds of his latest album “Taming the Wind.”
