Over the past decade, alt. country has experienced quite a revival. While many contemporary alt. country sounds ironically lean more toward the classic side of things, the early days of alt. country music were marked by a departure from tradition. T
hose wanting to take a step back into alt. country’s past will enjoy an intimate performance from Clem Snide in The Peoples Room of Mobile’s listening environment. These days, founding member Eef Barzelay performs under his band’s name. No stranger to Mobile, Barzelay’s Peoples Room show will be a chance for longtime Clem Snide fans to revisit classic cuts and experience new tracks.
“Beyond Forever Just Beyond” is the latest release from Clem Snide. This album boasts 18 tracks of acoustic-based music and is a flashback to Bob Dylan’s rise to fame. Each track is haunted by dreamy reverb that complements each measure. This aspect of the Clem Snide sound can be heard throughout their collection and has been mimicked by bands such as My Morning Jacket and Fleet Foxes.
