Husband and wife professional artists Benno and Regina Kolleger recently relocated to Mobile from upstate New York and decided to transfer their enchantment into visual statements. The paintings and sculptures are the manifest experience of the “first time walking through Mobile County and the pleasant surprises we found.”
Austrian-born Benno, a professional artist for 60 years, describes his work as a “repertoire of experiences, adventures, feelings and happenings … all extremely diversified and huge … a kaleidoscope of feelings in many styles.”
Tokyo-native Regina Doi-Kolleger describes her contribution as the “playful excitement, nobility and mystery of Mobile’s Mardi Gras, where revelers, horsemen and their mounts are depicted in bold color and movement.”
An opening reception is planned for the May 9 LoDa Artwalk, 6 – 9 p.m.
Gallery hours are Mon – Fri, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Entrance is free.
