Soul Kitchen is bringing Downfall 2012 from Humble, Texas, to kick off a tidal wave of metallic sounds from around the globe. Even though the band has only three members, it creates a huge sound characterized by balanced measures of heaviness and clarity. This group has proven its dominance in the Texas music scene and now has set its sights on the rest of the nation.

The dark figures of Sunflower Dead will follow, featuring “five murdered boys [who] were found disemboweled and laid out in a field” who have returned to use their music to enact revenge on evildoers. The band’s single “Let’s Get Weird” (featuring Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis) takes on an orchestral vibe with its intricate metal arrangement.

After a highly successful debut in Mobile, Sweden’s Avatar will round out the show to give local metal heads another European pummeling. Last time this band released an album, it wanted its listeners to “Hail the Apocalypse.” Now, Avatar is bringing its fans “Feathers & Flesh,” 16 tracks filled with the epic guitar work and hellish vocals that have made this band a local favorite.
