Republican presidential candidate and real estate mogul Donald Trump will appear in person in Mobile Friday evening, a source at the Mobile Civic Center confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

The event will take place in the venue’s theater at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the event will be available shortly at Seats are first-come, first-served, the source said.

In case of a sellout, there will be overflow seating available in the Civic Center’s east exhibit area.

Trump has been leading in the GOP primary polls and has also been the subject of headlines for comments he’s made on the campaign trail and positions taken in the first televised debate. In a recent CNN/ORC poll, Trump widened his lead over former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and other Republican contenders.

The 2016 primary season kicks off in February of next year with the Iowa Caucuses, followed by the New Hampshire primary. Alabama’s primary is slated for Tuesday, March 1, which is known as “Super Tuesday” because of the number of state primaries held that day.
