Big Beach Brewing Company is giving locals and visitors a chance to beat the heat with a cold craft brew and the sounds of Brown Kid. Growing up in Lima, Peru, the region’s exotic local sounds filled his ears. However, the soul sounds of America proved to be quite infectious for the singer-songwriter.
When his travels brought him to Auburn, Brown Kid began playing at local venues. His success in Auburn’s music scene encouraged him to venture beyond this college town into venues across the Southeast. Brown Kid also found time to lay down tracks for his 2010 debut, “The Unknown.”
When he arrives in Gulf Shores, his performance will include tracks from his latest EP re- lease, “Rusty Strings.” With each passing track, Brown Kid’s eclectic mixture of folk rock and Peruvian sounds are evident. Built upon an acoustic foundation, this singer-songwriter’s exotic brand of folk and soul sounds like Jack Johnson with a Peruvian edge.
