A home invasion near Friendship Road in Baldwin County left two shot monday night, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred west of Highway 64 around 10 p.m. last night, and the suspects are still at large.
According to police, three armed men kicked in the door of home, dragged the homeowner from his bed and demanded money. After a struggle ensued, the homeowner was shot once in the lower back, according to police.
According to the sheriff’s office, a neighbor and relative of the man heard the commotion and came to help, but was also shot once in the abdomen.
All three suspects fled the scene of crime on foot before authorities could arrive. The men were described as black males dressed in all black, with black bandanas covering their faces. The victims said the suspects were also wearing gloves.
Both shooting victims were last listed in stable condition.
A manhunt for the suspect wasn’t confirmed by sheriff’s officers, but witnesses in the area reported helicopters and sirens in the area around 11 p.m. last night.
