The University of South Alabama’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved 3.5-percent increase in student tuition today – keeping with a four-year trend.
Housing fees and the cost of student meal plans will also increase 3 percent and 2.5 percent respectively.
According to representative from USA, the increase costs will translate to a $300-a-year increase for students.
According to USA’s website, the current yearly cost for tuition and fees adds up to around $8,310
A shortfall in state funding resulted in tuition increases in a majority of state schools including Troy University, Auburn University, The University of Alabama and The University of Alabaman at Birmingham.
In May, Troy University’s Board of Trustees approved a 3-percent increase and additional 8-percent increase on graduate students.
