Mobile has no shortage of vinyl collectors. Many of them have been taking advantage of Mobile Records (140 B. Sage Ave.).
Owner Keith Glass has taken note of the local vinyl crowd, and organized the Getta LoDa CD & Vinyl Show. This showcase of classic sonic mediums will be strictly for true vinyl junkies. In fact, it is no coincidence that this inaugural event is being held at Soul Kitchen. Co-owner Maggie Smith is somewhat of a vinyl addict herself.
Vinyl collectors from all over are invited to come buy, sell, trade, or talk everything vinyl. There will be 20 vendors and more than 20 tables to peruse. Many of the vendors will showcase their waxy wares the night before Getta LoDa at the Record Raid in NOLA.
Those wishing to attend can expect vendors from Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, Oklahoma and the Carolinas. For those who cannot make it to the show, Mobile Records will hold its annual recognition of Record Store Day on Saturday, April 19.
