BALDWIN COUNTY COMMISSION FACILITIES – CLOSED
All Baldwin County Commission facilities will be closed Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
Baldwin County Commission employees should NOT report to work unless directed to by a supervisor.
BRATS TRANSPORTATION – CLOSED
ALL Baldwin Rural Area Transportation System public transit routes will be closed on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
BALDWIN COUNTY SOLID WASTE – CLOSED
The Bay Minette Transfer Station, Magnolia Landfill and MacBride Landfill will be closed on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
If your garbage is normally picked up on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, the Baldwin County Solid Waste Department will pick up your garbage on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Pick up areas include: West of Silverhill and Loxley, Fairhope, Daphne, Bell Forest, Phillipsville, Highway 31 between Perdido and Bay Minette, Highway 112, Bay Minette, Highway 287, Bromley Road, Highway 225 and areas of Spanish Fort normally picked up on Wednesday.
If your garbage is normally picked up on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, the Baldwin County Solid Waste Department will pick up your garbage on Friday, January 31, 2014. Pick up areas include: Elberta, Lillian, Perdido Beach, unincorporated areas east of Foley, Josephine, Stapleton, Spanish Fort and areas of White House Fork whose garbage is normally picked up on Tuesday.
At this time the Baldwin County Highway Department is on standby and closely monitoring county roads and bridges.
In the event of sleet, freezing rain and snow, driving conditions will become extremely hazardous. Be aware that bridges and overpasses typically freeze more quickly than other surfaces. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution.
Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency and the Baldwin County Highway Department will continue to monitor the winter weather situation. In the event further action is needed an immediate notification will be given.
