There is only one office on the April 12 Republican runoff ballot: State School Board. Jackie Zeigler received a plurality of votes in the primary and she has been endorsed by the two candidates that were eliminated. Her opponent is Matt Brown, a Bentley appointee.
The cost of this runoff is more than a half million dollars. Mr. Brown should do the right thing and concede to Zeigler and save the state this unnecessary expense. If he does not concede, the Republican Party should pay the cost of this unnecessary runoff.
